Meet the Team

Trish

"I dream that the people no longer see colour, race, financial class, or experience emotions such as greed and jealousy. I dream of the people together as one people, healing the whenua (the womb of the mother that nurtures us). For when the land is well and the sea is well, the people will thrive.

"Toitū te whenua, Toitū te moana, Toitū te tangata."

My career began in administration as a young teenager influenced by my parents. It was natural assimilation to spend the better part of 30 odd years constructing an image to please social expectations. Right up until the time I was cornered into questioning why I continued with this facade. In being daughter, sister, friend, mum to our three boys and wife, I had failed to acknowledge my own passions, too intent on conforming to those around me, and no doubt creating the same expectations for my own children. It is in our darkest places where we see the light, and so from the bottom of this sink hole, I chose to follow that light, I chose to leap headfirst into the unknown.

My career had provided great opportunities to work with many people in many different industries, studying and learning many different skills. I have led teams, built a business, coached people in business, always been the confidant that people trust and confide in, and so much more. When it came to being challenged to question my direction, it was ultimately simple to conclude that I am well equipped to follow what I genuinely loved, and that is to help others. But first I was required to help myself.

So began a new phase of my personal journey toward self-awareness and emotional wellness. With an indigenous heart, it is my passion for Papatuanuku (Grandmother Earth) and all people, which enables me to work from unconditional love. My practice has led me to conclude (for now) that my gifts lie within what we ‘feel’. The emotions. We as humans in our physical bodies, expel so much of our energy avoiding what we ‘feel’. We plunge our emotions down into our bodies avoiding any kind of acknowledgement or understanding, until our body eventually cannot take any more and it screams out in physical pain.

Certified in Management, Coaching, Peer Supervision, Reiki, & Lomi Lomi Massage, I am equipped to walk alongside those willing to take a journey toward the self. As they journey through key principles toward emotional well-being, the layers which have restrained them throughout their lifetime begin to peel away.  As these cage walls fall away, an exhilarating sense of freedom can then be experienced.

Every new day is a new beginning, a new opportunity to meet new people, to learn, to observe, to acknowledge, to practice and to absorb. I choose to make the most of every new beginning, to experience and feel every single moment. I hope that you may wish to join me in experiencing this freedom, to take time to feel the sun upon your face and view the endless magnificence around you.

I am on a life-long journey of study, observation and learning. Please join me on my journey, feel free to contact me, subscribe to my blog, follow my Social Media pages, or just linger.

From my heart to yours, aroha nui

Sarah

My name is Sarah Dunn and I was raised here in Rotorua. I am Trish's media guru niece and I was always interested in movies at a young age and began making fun videos during my time at Rotorua Girls High School. I then moved up to Auckland and studied at Yoobee School of Design for 2 years recieving a level 5 Diploma in Digital Design. In this course I learnt the basics of Animation, Film, VFX and Graphic Design. I then went on to the next year and achieved a level 6 Diploma in Screen Production.

During my time studying in Auckland I got experience in many different gigs including Theatre Performances, Short Films, A Red Carpet Event, Promo Videos, Weddings, Saftey Videos, Music Videos, and Ad Campaigns.

Once I graduated I moved back home to Rotorua and have been working at Westbrook Primary School as a teacher aide. I've been using any excuse to use my film making and photography skills to improve my portfolio and get known within the Bay of Plenty area. Here I have made videos for the school such as the Gala, Year 5 camp and The Mega Dunk for Harold put on by Life Education Trust. A promo video for Schools Out Ranolf, Weddings and a few of my friends birthdays. I have also entered the 48 hour film festival for the past 3 years. This year I was a BoP regional finalist, and also got nominated for Best VFX, and Best Sound Design.
